Elevate Your Travel Game with Technology

I love to travel and have a lifetime goal of visiting at least 100 countries. I’m well on my way, but I’ve learned that having the right products can make all the difference in creating a smooth and enjoyable journey.

Our focus today lies on the “Techie” side of travel, catering to the tech-savvy traveler within you. The recommendations below encompass a wide range of state-of-the-art electronics and ingenious gadgets curated to make your coastal travels more convenient.  It is the perfect opportunity to elevate your travel game with these items.

Apple Air Tags: The 4 pack of Air Tags is the most economical way to purchase. I keep these on my checked luggage, carry-on bag, purse AND hidden in my car.  I’ve had to track the bags on multiple occasions, and it gives peace of mind in the process, yet helps retrieve my luggage when needed. My brother had his truck stolen recently – with an Air Tag hidden inside.  He was able to let the police know exactly where the car was heading, and they caught the criminal and retrieved his truck within 30 minutes. All our family now places a hidden Air Tag in the car. These can be worth their weight in gold! (I also use these Silicone cases to attach the air tags easily to the inside of my luggage. We use this stick-on Pelican case for our cars.)

Electronic Readers: As an avid reader, I got tired of struggling with books on the plane and in hotels. I am in love with my Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition which allows me to read without a booklight, with no ads, no glare, and in all locations. The wireless connection holds an amazingly long charge and 32GB of memory.  Amazon normally offers a month or so FREE on Kindle Unlimited here.  And if you prefer audiobooks, Audible offers a free trial too!

Noise-Canceling Headphones: Traveling with Bose QuietComfort 45 Bluetooth headphones makes a world of difference on a long flight. The sound and the quality are so good with these, that I wear them around the house to block out everything around me. They are noise-cancelling and very comfortable.  Bose also has the same quality in the Bose QuietComfort Ear Buds. These are wireless, Bluetooth, noise cancelling and small, available in white or black. Our kids prefer the Apple Air Pods Pro. You certainly can’t go wrong with either Apple OR Bose products.

Luggage Scale:  The Etekcity digital weight scales for us are essential items since I try to pack as much as possible into a bag.  It’s easy to use, compact and lightweight, so I carry it in my luggage to use in both directions.

Universal Travel Locks: Protect your belongings with a TSA-approved lock suitable for different types of luggage. The Fosman Locks are good quality steel with resettable combinations and easy to use. However, if you prefer the flexibility of cables, Fosman Cable Locks have an alloy body and are easy to thread through any space. Both of these come in a variety of colors and are available in packs of 4, which gives the best value.

Universal Travel Adapter/Converter:  An international travel adapter is a must-have for charging your devices in different countries with varying electrical socket configurations–and a converter is essential if you are plugging in more than your iphone/ipad/computer. The Bestex International Power Adapter  includes both – adapters for 5 regions along with a step-down converter with 4 ports USB.  If you just need the adapters alone, the Apple World Traveler kit provides 7 different AC plugs with prongs that fit different regions world-wide. It is high-quality and perfect to use with any Apple product.

Portable Power Bank: A portable power bank is a lifesaver when you’re out exploring coastlines. I love the Anker brand for reliability, fast charging, and its slim design. However, the INIU Portable Charger is slightly lighter-weight and has a second output port, which could come in handy if needed to charge multiple devices at the same time.

Travel Friendly Camera: While you can get some amazing photos using an iPhone, sometimes an actual camera is the better choice.  Mirrorless, DSLR, and most point-and-shoot cameras are better in low-light settings and with movement, but they also offer a higher resolution, best for printing and enlarging. I use the Panasonic Lumix Digital Camera (point-and-shoot) but the SONY a7 III Mirrorless 4K has an incredible zoom with an excellent tracking autofocus. It offers a compact design, packed with features, making it an excellent investment for capturing your travel memories.

Travel Tech Gear Organizer: Keeping your cords and accessories all in one place and easily accessible is important when traveling. I have the Electronic Organizer Travel Cable Accessories bag, which has worked perfectly for my needs.  It comes in 4 color options, but my pink bag makes it easy to find, and the compact size fits perfectly into my carry-on.  If you happen to be on a road trip, the larger capacity PackAll Storage Bag might be a great option, holding all the tech gear in one shock-proof case.

With these technical travel products in your arsenal, you are equipped to embark on your next adventure with confidence and ease. So, pack your bags, explore the world, and create lasting memories as you embrace the spirit of adventure! Your globetrotting adventures await!
